File formats we
use
Hypertext markup language
or HTML is what we use to create some of our Web pages. HTML pages can be identified
by the .html at the end of the file name, i.e., http://www.cbs.state.or.us./wcd/docs/aboutsite.html
Some documents, like WCD forms, are available as Microsoft Word 97 & 2000 documents.
You may want to read the instructions
weve written on how to use the forms before you download them.
The balance of our pages are portable document format files or PDFs. You can identify
PDFs by the .pdf at the end of the file name, i.e., http://www.oregonwcd.org/docs/rules/436_001.pdf
PDFs require a free piece of software called the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download
the free Reader from the Adobe site. If you should have any trouble, please call
Amy Wadsworth at (503) 947-7637 and shell be happy to walk you through the download
process.

Searchable databases
We currently have three
searchable databases for employer coverage information through the Employer
Data System Search (EDS). You can search for workers compensation insurance
coverage information by employer name, address, or phone number.
You can also search
the EDS database for employers with workers compensation insurance coverage ending
soon. An employer will appear on this list when WCD is notified that a Guaranty Contract
on file with the Department will end soon. Employers on this list may in fact have
coverage or may not be required to carry workers compensation insurance. These
situations may occur, for example, when renewal of coverage is pending with the insurer,
or the employer is in the process of obtaining other coverage, is no longer a subject
employer, or has filed information not yet registered with WCD.
You may also search the
EDS for employers with no current workers compensation insurance coverage on
record. Employers on this list have had a history of coverage but WCD was notified
that a Guaranty Contract on file with the Department has ended. Employers on this list
may in fact have coverage or may not be required to carry workers compensation
insurance. These situations may occur, for example, when the employer is no longer
a subject employer, or has obtained other coverage not yet registered with WCD.
