Workers'
compensation law and rule allow certified managed care organizations
(MCOs) to contract only with insurers and self-insured employers.
MCOs cannot directly contract with third party administrators or
employers. However, an MCO may contract with an insurer on behalf
of a specific employer as long as that employer is not a "party"
to the contract.
As of June 30, 2008, there are 92 effective MCO/insurer and self-insured
employer contracts. These contracts are listed in the links below.
