The Medical Advisory Committee has endorsed the statewide Oregon Opioid Prescribing Guidelines: Recommendations for the Safe Use of Opioid Medications. The guidelines offer opioid resources to better help prescribers when considering opioid therapy.
The committee has also endorsed practice tips for workers’ compensation patients. We encourage providers to share these tips with their patients as a tool to better understand and discuss the appropriate and safe use of opioids, as well as the possible risks associated with opioid therapy.
