The Medical Advisory Committee was created in 1965 to advise on matters related to delivering medical care to workers. The director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services appoints the committee members. The committee meets regularly with the Workers' Compensation Division. Members of the committee include representatives of the types of health care providers that most represent those providing medical care services to injured workers. The committee also includes one representative each from an insurer, employer, worker, and managed care organization. The director may appoint others as needed.
