What is EDI?
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is computer-to-computer communication, without human intervention. Using EDI for workers’ compensation reporting and billing saves time and money by reducing errors and eliminating paper.
To use EDI, the computer systems involved must speak the same standard language. The International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) has developed standards for the insurance community to report workers’ compensation information to jurisdictions.
